Clifford ‘Uncle Cliffy’ Robinson revolutionized the National Basketball Association. As proof of that, consider how many posts were shooting three-pointers in the NBA prior to 1989 when Uncle Cliffy entered the league versus how many were shooting three-pointers by the time Cliff retired in 2007. Clifford’s impact on the way basketball is played in the NBA is glaringly obvious.

Uncle Cliffy’s talents extended well past the boundaries of an NBA court. Anyone that spent a night singing karaoke with Clifford will be quick to tell you that he had a voice worthy of a Grammy. He was an amazing cook, his hat game was stronger than anyone ever, and Robinson likely still holds the West Coast record for catching the most air at the sand dunes.

Clifford had a smile that would light up a room and he was easily one of the funnest people to be around. He lived a blessed life, appearing on Survivor, hitting a 25-point shot on MTV’s Rock n’ Jock challenge, and even traveling to North Korea as an ambassador for the game of basketball. Clifford was a son, a father, a brother, a cousin, an uncle, a teammate, and a friend. He will be missed more than words can ever express.
